NUDIE JEANS Wear & Tear Competition 2009 03 July

To get the perfect jeans, start to wear in a pair of dry denims. To break in a pair of dry, unwashed jeans you need to wear them everyday for at least six months before you wash them. No pre-washed or prefaded jeans in the world can compete with a pair of natural worn in jeans. The special features of the indigo dye makes the jeans age in a unique and beautiful way, reflecting your everyday lifestyle. To celebrate the magic of the indigo colour, Nudie Jeans Co arranges a global Wear & Tear Competition during 2009. The competition launches on July 1, 2009 and ends on February 28, 2010. A winner with the most beautiful pair of Nudie Jeans is appointed in each country where you can find a Nudie Jeans retailer. The grand price is a 500 euro voucher in the Nudie Jeans web shop. The competition can easily be followed at www.nudiejeans.com, also by non-contestants. To enter the competition all participants need to register at www.nudiejeans.com. After registration, a user profile will be created where images continually can be uploaded to show the break in process of all contender’s dry denims. Each participant’s latest uploaded image will automatically be published in the ”Wear&Tear Denim Gallery” on their web site. The winners will be announced at nudiejeans.com in March 2010. Over the Rainbow would like to wish everyone, especially fellow resident Canadians, a very happy Canada Day! We will be open today from 12PM-6PM for anyone who wishes to do some Holiday Summer shopping! For those living outside of our wonderful country, Canada Day symbolizes the day of Confederation, where the future provinces of Canada signed a document in 1867 that would join them together as one country. While two more historic events occuring in 1939 (Statute of Westminster) and 1982 (Charter of Rights and Freedoms) would allow Canada further constitutional rights as a governing sovereign nation, Canada Day marks the humble beginnings of our great country. Sportswear International, one of the industry's most prominent trade journals, has published issue #225 for the Summer 2009 season. A few months ago, the editor of Sportswear International approached industry icons from across the world to write their own editorials for a multi-page segment entitled "Insider Truth: Can You Stand It? Only three Canadians were tapped to write for this issue, two of which were from Over the Rainbow. Owner Joel Carman and managing partner Daniel Carman co-authored a critical "denim editorial" explaining the some of the recent activity in the premium denim market. We would like to thank both of them for helping us put together a great event for a wonderful cause.
